So findest und streichelst du Höllenhunde in Modern Warfare III

Hellhounds are required for several challenges in Zombies, but you also have the ability to pet them.

There are several different enemy types you will encounter during a match in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies. From regular zombies, to Special and Elite Zombies to enemy human AI, you can’t go far without being attacked by something. However, one of the more sought-after enemies Zombies is Hellhounds.

These fire dogs really only come in one variety and can spawn randomly on the map just like any other zombie or enemy type. However, what makes Hellhounds different from other enemies is that you need to kill them for certain weapon camo challenges, contracts, or missions in Zombies. There is also another element to Hellhounds, which is petting them for an in-game achievement.

If you’re curious about the best way to spawn Hellhounds or how to pet one in MW3 Zombies, read our guide below for all of the details.

How to find Hellhounds in MW3 Zombies

MW3 hellhounds

Overall, the most efficient way to find a large amount of Hellhounds is to complete various contracts around the map. These contracts can be in the Low, Medium, or High Threat Zones, as Hellhounds can spawn anywhere in Urzikstan. Of course, to see a higher number of Hellhounds, you likely want to go to the more dangerous zones, but only if you have the right gear.

However, the best contract to find and complete to spawn Hellhounds are Raid Weapon Stashes. These contracts require you to defend a stash, likely in a building, for a specific amount of time. During this time, dozens of zombies will come to try and eliminate you.

Hellhounds have a higher chance to spawn and attack you when this contract is active, so it’s highly recommended to complete as many Raid Weapon Stashes as you can find on the map. Raid Weapon Stash contracts are marked on your map by an icon of a gun inside of a book. As with all contracts, this icon is light blue.

If you have completed all of your Raid Weapon Stash contracts, you can also complete Escort ACV contracts in Zombies. These contracts tend to also spawn a solid amount of Hellhounds. Escort ACV contracts require you to protect a tank as it moves around the map. You have to protect it for roughly five minutes and dozens of zombies will spawn to attack it or you.

Not as many Hellhounds will spawn during Escort ACV contracts as they will during Raid Weapon Stash contracts, but either one will serve you just fine.

How to pet Hellhounds in MW3 Zombies

If you have ever seen a doghouse icon on your map while roaming around Urzikstan in MW3 Zombies, you might be interested in exactly what it does. This icon represents a Hellhound doghouse, which guarantees to spawn a friendly Hellhound you can pet, but only if you complete a couple of objectives first. Petting a Hellhound rewards you with an in-game achievement and is required for some missions in Zombies.

To pet a Hellhound, first you need to find a doghouse icon on your map. Once you find one, you need to find and loot a Chunk of Flesh, which is only a drop from killing zombies. Chunk of Flesh is a random drop, so you need to continually kill zombies until you see it on the ground. It’s a blue rarity item, so it might take a while to drop for you.

If you get lucky and get the Chunk of Flesh drop, add it to your rucksack and take it to the doghouse icon on your map. Standing in front of the doghouse, interact with it and you’ll see an inventory pop up. Transfer the Chunk of Flesh from your inventory to the doghouse, which causes the house to explode and a Hellhound to spawn.

Don’t worry, though, as this Hellhound is friendly and won’t attack you. When the Hellhound spawns, you can approach it and interact with the dog to give it a pet. This rewards you with the “You Can Pet The Dog Achievement” in MW3.

And that’s everything you need to know about how to find and pet Hellhounds in MW3 Zombies. They’re not the most common enemy to find in Urzikstan, but using our tips, you should be able to spawn them far more frequently than you were able to before.
