Forget tabbing out and opening up task manager in the middle of a game—just let your Apex keyboard's OLED screen show you how your PC is doing.
Folks use the OLED display on their Apex 5, Apex 7, Apex Pro keyboards (and their TKL versions) for all kinds of reasons: adjusting settings, getting in-game alerts, viewing Discord messages, or just displaying custom gifs.
But now you can also view your PC's system information right on your keyboard, which is incredibly helpful when you're in the middle of a game or anything else that you don't want to control+alt+delete away from.
Here's how to do it:
Step 1: Make sure you have SteelSeries Engine
Engine is the key to any customization of your SteelSeries gear.
The latest version can always be found on the SteelSeries Engine download page.
Step 2: Make sure your version is updated
If you already have Engine installed, you can check your current version by clicking the gear icon in the top right corner of Engine, then click "About" to see your version. You'll want version 3.18.0 or later for the full System Monitor functionality.
If you're not up-to-date, click the horn icon just to the left of the gear, or visit the SteelSeries Engine download page.
Step 3: Enable System Monitor
In Engine, click "apps" (circled below) and locate the "System Monitor" app.
Toggle the slider to the "on" position, and then you're all set! You may get a prompt asking to allow SteelSeries access to this info, so press "yes" in order for it to work.
You can now look down and see your keyboard cycling through RAM usage, CPU usage, GPU usage, and the temperature for your CPU and GPU!
Step 4: Customize the System Monitor display (optional)
Click "configure" to change the format and amount of data that is displayed on your keyboard. By default, each of the 4 screens (CPU, GPU, RAM, temperature) display all available information, so you only need to customize it if you'd like to see less in-depth info cycling on your keyboard.
